Each term is one year, but officers can expect to serve at least 5 years as they progress through the ranks. (Advancement is not automatic.) Each year, the Board of Directors meets in person three times in various locations throughout the state. Officers are expected to attend all Board Meetings in addition to the Legislative Conference (Impact), Annual Conference (Inspire), and other meetings that may be called by the President. Travel reimbursement is not provided.
Yes. Most travel is in state, but NAA Delegates are required to travel for out of state meetings.
Each year, a Nominating Committee is appointed by the FAA President to source officer candidates for the FAA Executive Committee and the Florida Suppliers Council. This Committee interviews candidates, reviews qualifications, and recommends a "slate" of officers to the FAA Board of Directors. This slate is published prior to the annual conference (Inspire) each year. The Board then votes on the recommended slate as a whole.
Terms for all incoming officers begin after they have been installed at the annual conference (Inspire). This year, terms will begin on Friday, November 7, 2025.
All candidates meeting the criteria stated above will be interviewed by the Nominating Committee, via Zoom this Summer.
