From the NAA
Late Sunday, the president signed the coronovirus relief package passed by Congress on December 21. The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 is the first coronavirus relief package since the July expiration of many critical relief efforts, including enhanced unemployment benefits. More and more states are adopting a broad framework of protections that shield businesses from civil liability claims resulting from customer or employee exposure to COVID-19. While the National Apartment Association is encouraged by the work of state lawmakers to support the revitalization of America’s economy and promote certainty, more can and should be done to protect businesses nationwide. NAA continues to advocate for a federal standard as outlined in the SAFE TO WORK Act. Read more.
This week is the last chance to apply for NAA’s Diversity Leadership Program. This yearlong program provides 15 participants of diverse backgrounds the opportunity to develop as a leader in the rental housing industry. Gain leadership experience through mentoring and training. All applications are due by January 1, 2021.
