This "members only" section of the FAA website was designed to provide you with resources on current issues, keep you up to date and informed on what bills we're tracking during session, contact your lawmakers when instant action is needed, and as a resource for what's being said in the media about the Florida apartment industry. Be sure to check back frequently, especially during session, for updates!
One of FAA's primary responsibilities is to advocate on behalf of the Florida apartment industry. This includes influencing or sponsoring state legislation that would provide positive and meaningful change for owners and operators of multi-unit housing and the 1/3rd of Floridians that choose the rental housing lifestyle. It also means that our Government Affairs Department monitors for legislation that could jeopardize our business. Additionally, FAA provides government affairs logistical and research support to our 11 local affiliates when requested or when a threatening local ordinance has the potential to spread throughout the state. Lastly, FAA has made it a top priority to establish a rapport with lawmakers in the Florida Executive and Legislative branches, and most recently with elected officials in local government.
